In Partnership with JHIM Foundation • Led by CEO Josephine Nanyombi

At Umoja Greenlands, in partnership with JHIM Foundation, and under the joint stewardship of CEO Josephine Nanyombi, gender equality is more than an ideal—it’s our daily practice. This collaboration brings together JHIM’s deep roots in youth and community support with Umoja’s regenerative systems expertise.

Josephine Nanyombi—founder and CEO of Jos Harmony and Inspiration Mission Foundation (JHIM)—is also the Executive Director of Umoja Greenlands, leading both organizations toward a shared vision of systemic justice and ecological regeneration.

💪 Women’s Leadership at the Helm

Josephine champions women’s leadership across all circles—from governance to advocacy to agriculture—ensuring that our work is guided by compassion, inclusion, and lived experience. The partnership shows what’s possible when shared leadership and distributed power are real and practiced.

Our empowerment approach includes:

  • 🌱 Leadership Development: Centering women in leadership and decision-making roles.

  • 🛡️ Safe, Inclusive Spaces: Cultivating environments for open, equitable dialogue and innovation.

  • 🌾 Intersectional Systems: Integrating gender justice into regenerative agriculture, food systems, and self-organizing frameworks.

  • 💰 Economic Autonomy: Supporting equitable, community-based livelihoods that uplift women.

Intersectionality guides our work—we dismantle systems of domination, spanning gender, race, class, and species, to nurture holistic well-being for all.

👧 Empowering Girls, Transforming Communities

Our partnership extends into a shared belief: empowering girls unlocks community-wide transformation.

🌟 Our Vision:

A world where every girl is valued, respected, and supported to become a strong, independent, and influential leader within her community and beyond.

🛠️ Our Holistic Approach:

  • 👩‍🏫 Mentorship & Role Models
Girls are paired with mentors—drawn from local leaders and JHIM’s network—who provide support, guidance, and encouragement.

  • 📚 Education & Skills Training
We offer access to quality education and specialized skills—including regenerative agriculture, environmental stewardship, leadership, and social entrepreneurship.

  • 💼 Economic Empowerment
Through microfinance programs and entrepreneurship training—hallmarks of JHIM’s approach—we support girls to gain financial independence and agency.

  • 🤝 Community Engagement & Leadership
Girls participate in community service, storytelling, and youth leadership programs—seeing their ideas valued and making real impact.
