Position Title: EA Regional Developer
Circle: Effective Altruism Circle (Ethos Circle)
Location: East Africa (Remote/flexible; preference for Kenya, Uganda, or surrounding regions)
Type: Volunteer Position (with potential for stipend depending on available funding)
Purpose of the Role
To build and grow a thriving, inclusive, and impact-oriented Effective Altruism (EA) community in East Africa, while linking it meaningfully with Umoja Greenlandsâ mission, values, and community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development of the Effective Altruism East Africa community (Facebook group, events, onboarding)
Facilitate regional outreach, collaboration, and learning opportunities
Represent Umoja Greenlands in local and global EA spaces
Align community efforts with both EA principles and Umoja Greenlandsâ orientations
Help identify funding and partnership opportunities that reflect high-impact goals
Create relevant, engaging content (e.g. presentations, blog posts, summaries)
Who Weâre Looking For

Passionate about reducing suffering and doing good effectively
Skilled in community building or communications
Familiar with East African social and environmental contexts
Curious about EA ideas (training and support provided!)
Self-motivated and values-driven
