Position Title: EA Apprentice
Circle: Effective Altruism Circle (Ethos Circle)
Location: Remote or based in East Africa
Type: Volunteer Learning Role (Internal Only) â with mentorship and possible stipend support
Purpose of the Role
This position is designed to support the internal formation of future community leaders within Umoja Greenlands who are grounded in Effective Altruism (EA) principles. The EA Apprentice will participate in structured learning and assist in real-world applications of EA concepts, in preparation for stepping into more active roles in the movement and within the organization.
â ď¸ This role is open only to current Umoja Greenlands members, collaborators, or volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in EA learning programs, mentorship sessions, and reading groups
Support the EA Coach and EA Regional Developer with communications and logistics
Reflect on and document personal learning progress from an East African perspective
Co-facilitate events, dialogues, or knowledge-sharing sessions as appropriate
Develop a small EA-aligned project or campaign (with guidance)
