
🌱 “Unlocking the Secrets of Permaculture for Community Resilience.”
Paul Odiwuor Ogola is a seasoned permaculture educator, designer, and community leader with over nine years of hands-on experience transforming landscapes and lives through regenerative agriculture.
A husband and father of five, Paul’s permaculture journey began with training from Steve Jones (Wales, UK), followed by a pivotal Permaculture Design Course (PDC) in Uganda in 2016. This experience ignited his passion for blending ancestral knowledge with modern innovations to build sustainable food systems and empower communities from the ground up.
👨🏫 Founder of Permoafrica-Centre
In response to his growing sense of responsibility, Paul founded Permoafrica-Centre, a grassroots permaculture training hub in Kenya. For over eight years, this center has been a vibrant space for learning and ecological transformation, offering practical, community-based education to farmers, youth, and educators.
Paul’s work focuses on:
Food security and agroecology
Soil restoration and ecosystem health
Capacity building through teacher training
Integrating permaculture into refugee and marginalized communities
🌍 Key Milestones
2018 – East Africa Permaculture Convergence: Presenter and lead trainer for South Sudanese refugees in Bidi Bidi Settlement, Uganda, in partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council.
2023 – Community Empowerment: Conducted a full PDC at Permoafrica-Centre, certifying 25 new permaculture teachers to ripple knowledge through local networks.
2024 – International Permaculture Convergence (IPC15), Taiwan:
Delivered a powerful presentation, “Unlocking the Secrets of Permaculture.”
Engaged in global dialogue with farmers, policymakers, and community leaders.
Participated in a symposium on soil regeneration in Hsunchi City and shared insights with organic farming pioneers in Taromak Village.
